Sep 23, 2019

The U23 Swiss Champion rounded up his season with a win at the final round of the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup, a short track race in downtown Lugano.

What an exciting showdown it was! For the first time, the final round of the Swiss series was a short track held in a city centre. Going through pedestrian streets and long staircases, the course made for thrilling action for the spectators, MTB fans and Sunday ramblers.

A few centimeters only determined the winner after a final sprint between Colombo, Nino Schurter, Lars Forster and Florian Chenaux. The youngest of the group took the win, happy to celebrate the end of a great season with a victory in his hometown of Lugano.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to end the season! I can now enjoy the off-season and will start thinking confidently about my first Elite season but not before a few weeks!” he said with a beaming smile.

Colombo also finished third of the overall classification of the 2019 Proffix Swiss Bike Cup.
